Early Intervention
Intervention at a younger age can ensure better outcomes for your child in the future. Some problems when caught early can be managed before they become a big problem. Our team are skilled at providing high quality advice on how to help your child develop and grow through their early years. We can provide them with strategies on how to work towards the next developmental milestone. We are also familiar with what are some of the risk factors and red flags that can indicate increased disability and pain later in life. We strive to identify these risk factors early and implement strategies to reduce the risk of complications later in life.
Babies grow at a very fast rate and there is a lot of learning and development that occurs in the early years. It is vital to have an experienced practitioner who is familiar with the stages of development and how to assist your child to have the greatest chance of succeeding in life.
Therapy through Play
Children learn through exploration and experimenting with their world. They thrive off environments that foster imagination, creativity and repetition with variety. All children learn through play. Why should therapy be any different? This stage in childhood is vital for teaching children how to problem solve, manipulate their world and have control over their life. Without opportunities to develop autonomy and problem solving skills at this stage in life, there is a high risk that your child can delop a learned helplessness and a reliance on adults to guide and solve their problems. Our therapists are skilled in utilising fun and creativity to foster an environment where children with special needs can develop these lifelong skills.
Preparation for School
Children with chronic conditions and disability will require ongoing therapy as they grow and develop. As they get older, there is an increased demand on their cognitive load and physical skills. Our team is experienced in breaking down physical skills into easy to learn steps for children who struggle to keep up with their peers. We can provide strategies to help a child adapt to the demands of kinder and the school environment and ensure that precautions are undertaken to reduce the risk of deformity during growth spurts.
