History:

Aderet Therapy was established in 2020 in Melbourne and has expanded into Sydney. The clinicians at Aderet have been working in the area of complex disability for over 6 years with an emphasis on those with sensory processing challenges and complex communication needs. We understand that it is a difficult journey for a parent with a disability as this was not what was expected. We strive to journey alongside the family as they go through the grieving process and discovering a diagnosis.

'Aderet?'

The name "Aderet' comes from the Hebrew word for mantle from the Old Testament. Historically it meant a garment that was larger than the wearer. Symbolically when handed a mantle it signified being handed a task that was bigger than what you were currently capable of doing under the expectation that you will grow into the responsibility. Likewise Aderet Therapy believes children can grow and have dreams to strive towards.

Mission

Aderet Therapy strives to ensure that every child has the opportunity to be the best version of themselves. This comes through getting to know the child's personality and goals as well as working with the family and allied health team to problem solve the best realistic solution to meet their current needs. We strive to have fun in every session whilst also practicing strong evidence based intervention to enable each child to make the most progress towards their goals.

Values:

Provide Opportunities

We believe that a every child needs the opportunity to develop a skill. You cannot learn something unless you have a realistic opportunity to explore and develop a skill. Only then can it be determined whether it is possible.

Respect

Every child has their own personality and uniqueness to add to the world. We believe in empowering the individual to be the best version of themselves.

Teamwork

Progress occurs at a faster rate when we work as a team. Aderet is passionate about working collaboratively with the child, family, school, kinder, support network, other allied health professionals and medical personnel to ensure the best outcome for the child.

Fun

Therapy is meant to be fun. Children learn best through play. Our clinicians work hard to tap into a child's interest and tailor the goals to the child.
